The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has officially released the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination Notification. UPPSC PCS 2026 Salary Details

Selected candidates will receive pay scales ranging from ₹9,300–34,800 (Grade Pay ₹4,200–4,600) to ₹15,600–39,100 (Grade Pay ₹5,400) as per the 6th Pay Commission.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institute

Age Limit (as on July 1, 2026)

• General/EWS candidates: 21 to 40 years
• Reserved categories: Age relaxation up to 45 years as per UP Government rules

UPPSC PCS 2026 Selection Process

To secure a spot in the final merit list, aspirants must clear three distinct phases.

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)

• Paper I (General Studies): 150 questions, 200 marks — counted for Prelims merit 
• Paper II (CSAT): 100 questions, 200 marks — qualifying only (requires 33% marks) 
• Negative marking: 1/3 mark deducted for each wrong answer 
• Prelims marks are not carried forward to the final merit

Main Examination (Written/Descriptive)

• Total marks: 1,500 
• Papers: General Hindi, Essay, General Studies I–IV, and two papers on General Knowledge of Uttar Pradesh (GS-V and GS-VI) 
• No optional subject — major reform from the 2023 cycle 
• Held over 4 consecutive days

Personality Test (Interview)

• Carries 100 marks 
• Conducted at UPPSC Headquarters in Prayagraj 
• Final merit: Main Examination (1,500 marks) + Interview (100 marks) = 1,600 marks

UPPSC PCS Preliminary Exam Date 2026

As per the UPPSC Exam Calendar 2026, the PCS Preliminary Examination is scheduled for December 6, 2026 . The Main Examination dates will be announced later.
