The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has officially released the TNPSC Group 1 Notification 2026 for recruitment of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Assistant Commissioner, and other Group 1 services across the state.

TNPSC Group 1 Admit Card Release Date
The admit card for the TNPSC Preliminary Exam 2026 will be released approximately 7 to 10 days before the exam date. Candidates can check official website on regular basis.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Age Limit: The minimum and maximum age limits vary according to post category and reservation rules prescribed by TNPSC.
Language: Proficiency in the Tamil language is mandatory.
Minimum Age: 21 years.
Maximum Age: 34 years (35 years for specific roles requiring a B.L. degree) for General Category
Maximum Age: 39 years (40 years for specific roles with a B.L. degree) for Reserved Categories.
TNPSC Group 1: Selection Process
The selection process of TNPSC Group 1 recruitment will be conducted in three stage.
Preliminary Exam: An objective screening test will be for 300 marks.
Main Written Exam: A descriptive assessment comprising a mandatory Tamil Eligibility Test and three General Studies papers.
Interview: An assessment carrying 100 marks.
Salary: The final ranking and placement in Pay Level 22 (₹56,100 to ₹2,05,700) rely heavily on cumulative marks scored in the Mains Exam and Interview.
